Pre-dealt hands and analysis. This event is not confined to club members and no pre-entry is required. This event is scored at both Club and National level. Results from all around the country take up to six weeks to be recorded and this website will provide a running commentary over that period to keep you informed of how the leading Templemichael players are doing.

February 15th - Burke Trophy Qualifier

View competition results

This event is open to all affiliated players in County Longford. A teams competition without pre-entry. This competition has attracted an entry of twenty teams for each of the past two years, which has ensured that County Longford had an entry of three teams in the National Final for the Burke Trophy held in Dublin. This year the final will be on the weekend of 25th/26th February. A great night with all income being paid out in prizes and entry fees for the qualifying teams. The past two years have shown that County Longford teams can compete very well at this level and certainly illustrate their social dexterity over a period of 36 hours, almost non-stop, on the weekend of the final!

February 29th - The Annie Duignan Cup

This one-session event is open to all clubs in Longford Town. No pre-entry required. After the play results will be prepared and food and refreshments provided by the staff of Slashers GAA Club. Spot prizes throughout the evening.

March 28th - The Agnes O’Brien Trophy

This one-session event is open to all clubs in County Longford. No pre-entry required. This event has been running for the past two years and recorded a record entry of 51 pairs on the inaugural occasion in recognition of the popularity of Agnes O'Brien, a player at this club and around the county, for many years. Snack food provided by the staff of Slashers GAA Club, results and presentation of the trophy on the night, together with spot prizes during the evening.

May 2nd and 9th - President’s Prize Competition

The final 'major' competition of the year is sponsored by our President, John Nugent. A two-session individual event with numerous prizes on offer. Pre-entry essential and strictly confined to members only.

May 16th - President’s Dinner and Prize night followed by the AGM

The concluding event of our bridge season has evolved into a very enjoyable occasion. Even the AGM has been known to be fun! Dinner has always been extremely well prepared and presented by the very capable staff of Slashers GAA Club. After the dinner, prizes are awarded for all the major club events during the season, reminding us of all the successes both in the club and exploits elsewhere. This night is always an enjoyable occasion and with John Nugent at the helm, promises to be no different this year.
